FAQs
A limited number of auditions may be accepted on Fridays at noon when we're in session. You must apply to audition at least two weeks before the audition date. No walk-ins will be accepted.
The Scholarships
Performance scholarships are renewable for the full four years so long as the student remains active in theatre arts and maintains at least a 2.7 average.
The Schedule
Auditionees need to meet in Hedrick Little Theatre between 9:30 and 9:50am to register and check-in. Please also bring a copy of your head shot and resume. (Auditionees are encouraged to stay on campus Friday and/or Saturday evenings of audition weekends.) The department will arrange for auditionees to stay with current theatre arts students and for complimentary meals in the college dining hall. A production is scheduled for these weekends and complimentary tickets are provided.
Video Audition
If you can't make it to campus, we do accept video auditions before April 15th. We now accept DVD only. Please fill out the form above and follow the directions below.
The Auditions
Auditionees need to meet in Hedrick Little Theatre between 9:30 and 9:50am to register and check-in.
The audition will include performance or portfolio presentation and a short interview before the appropriate Audition Committee.
ACTING - The applicant should present two scenes of contrasting styles, no more than 1½-2 minutes total.
MUSICAL THEATRE – The applicant should prepare a 1½-2 minute audition, consisting of an acting piece and a vocal selection from musical theatre literature. The auditionee must provide and audio CD or iPod selection of musical accompaniment. There will be a short group dance audition for all musical theatre applicants.
DESIGN/TECHNICAL THEATRE – The applicant should prepare a 1½-2 minute presentation of designs, drawings, sketches, photos, and other evidence to support the extent and depth of experience.
THEATRE ARTS ADMINISTRATION, DIRECTING, or STAGE MANAGEMENT – The applicant should prepare a 1½-2 minute presentation of pertinent materials as evidence to support the extent and depth of experience.
